Welcome
Our President, Val
Quinton WI meets in Quinton Village Hall in the small village of Quinton, South of Northampton, on the road between Wootton and Salcey Forest.
Quinton WI was originally formed in 1946, although the first WI was opened in 1918. We have a long history. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. We normally have the speaker first, then refreshments followed by any WI news - anything we have done in the past month and events planned for the next month. Our members prefer to "do" something, rather than just sit and listen to a speaker. Hence, you may find yourself having a go at a craft. Whatever we do, you can be sure of a warm welcome.
During the pandemic, as restrictions lifted, we met at 10.30am every Friday on The Green under the Walnut Tree, bringing our own chair and hot drink. Those interested have carried on with this get-together.
We go on Outings and Theatre trips, join in with local WIs for their events and support the County Federation with their outings and events. As a small village, we are involved in the local community and are often asked to provide refreshments for the annual crowning of the May Queen - an event which has records going back over 60 years.
Take a look at some of our photos, including one of our President, Val Core (above). A welcome awaits!!
