2024 NFWI Annual Meeting held at Royal Albert Hall
It was a privilege for those who were able to attend the Royal Albert Hall for the 2024 NFWI Annual Meeting. One of the best, with inspirational and passionate speakers and nothing beats the singing of Jerusalem with the Royal Albert Hall organ, led by organist James Davy. The theme of the AGM was Stop Violence against Women. The Dental Health resolution was voted on and accepted as a campaign mandate.

Ann Jones, NFWI Chair, who is standing down after 3 years, told the members that this year has been the strongest year of WI recruitment! Continuing to grow, through flexibility (e.g.17 virtual WIs) and offering women the chance to be supporters.
We heard from @nazirafzal,OBE, Fmr Chief Prosecutor. Chancellor Univ of Manchester, Chair Hopwood Hall, Chair CSSA. He spoke on AGM theme of No More Violence Against Women, from an expert prosecution / law perspective.
We welcomed Mel B, who is a patron of @womens_aid and shared her story of abuse as documented in her stunning memoir, Brutally Honest. We were thrilled that the brilliant @vicderbyshire was Mel’s interviewer.
Our final speaker was @BBCArchers Timothy Watson. He played the long running serial’s Rob Titchener - an abusive partner - in a storyline which hugely impacted the public awareness of domestic abuse. Tim was joined by @womens_aid Teresa Parker, who helped with story and development.
Thank you to all involved for a fabulous meeting.
