Barton Seagrave WI held a very joyful and colourful Coronation Lunch at the Village Hall on 9th May. The King was toasted in Bucks Fizz before a tasty buffet enjoyed by the members and guests. We had a well supported competition with Royal themed Cup cakes. The judge had a difficult task choosing the winner. Eileen West was eventually awarded first prize and was presented with a silver salver.

Ashley Welland Valley WI had a wonderful evening eating, drinking and doing silly things. We started by all having tattoos on our left arm, however one of our number, Pauline, was having none of that and wanted her tattoo’s on her cheeks. Thankfully they were in a place that could be seen. We played Royal Bingo, King Splatt and a True or False Quiz and in between ate coronation chicken or salmon and dill sauce, with lots of trimmings, puddings galore and toasted the King’s health. And yes, the most popular tattoo was of a Grenadier Guard!

Brackley WI celebrated the coronation with a 3 course dinner at Brackley Town Hall.  A toast was made to the King and the national anthem sung. A fabulous evening was had by all.
