Folk Music
Andrew Castley

Andrew will give us a brief history of folk music, where it started, when and the development from the early days.

He and his band will then perform for us, getting our feet tapping and maybe joining in with the singing. Who knows? It should be a fun evening.

Blisworth WI are invited along to this event.

Review of the evening

Andrew and his band - 'Cut a Caper', who play for Barn Dances locally, gave us an intresting introduction to Folk music from the very beginnings to the Industrial Revolution. There were soloists, instrumentalists and dancing - a solo Morris Dancer and then a duet of clog dancing - minus the clogs! Members joined in with the songs they knew and were foot tapping and clapping throughout.

Blisworth WI swelled our numbers and everyone enjoyed a splendid supper prepared by Milton and Collingtree's committee.
