Resolutions
This meeting takes the form of a discussion and voting on this year's Resolution.
A discussion took place with members agreeing that the High Streets were a problem but that we couldn't go back in time. The out of town centres, the internet, high fuel and parking charges all add up to the lack of support in our towns. Smaller towns tend to fare better as they have more specialist shops still within their community.
Results14 votes for the motion with 6 abstentions.
Social time will include a chat about memories of Old Northampton so come armed with your personal ones. This links with our Resolution discussion and could spark off some lively debate about how the town used to be. Members can also catch up with their friends over refreshments.
Social time during the meeting
6 members had been asked if they would lead small groups of discussion, starting with their memories. Using beautiful books brought by members the discussions were lively, and interesting with 'comers in' eagerly digesting the information about their adopted town.
