Welcome

The Bouverie WI first started in the Village Guide hut in April 1966. Members met on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and have continued to do so ever since, but we now meet in Hardingstone Village Hall. We still have some of our original members who continue to enjoy the companionship and welcome that the WI offer.

Our members are entertained with a variety of outings, speakers and activities. Over the last few years we have had many delicious meals at different venues, a boat trip on the local waterways, tenpin bowling, pitch and putt and croquet. Our speakers have covered a huge range of topics and interests, including local Authors, Origins of Nursery Rhymes, The Leprosy Mission and A Wimbledon Umpire. Our activity evenings have included decorating cup cakes, flower arranging, indoor curling and making Christmas wrapping ideas.

Bouverie WI also has some additional groups that meet outside the monthly meetings. The Darts and Skittles Groups practice and play in competition regularly. The Tea Group gets together monthly at various local venues to have afternoon tea and a chat. The Cinema Group will usually meet monthly at a local cinema to enjoy a film together. The Craft Group meet on a monthly basis and cover topics such as knitting, crochet, card making, flower arranging and much more.

We support our local community and other groups by providing homemade cakes for Cynthia Spencer Hospice and participating in various activities organised by Hardingstone Groups.

We are a very friendly bunch of local ladies and would love to have some members to join us, to share our interests and bring new ideas to our group. Monthly meetings start at 7.45 pm and end around 9.45 pm. Tea and biscuits provided. There is parking in the village hall car park and on-street parking close by.

Come along and join us. You will be very welcome.
