Devon in March 2025 Four day trip to Torquay
A wonderful 4 day experience based in Torquay, visiting Britannia Royal Naval College and Dartmouth, including a trip on the foot ferry and steam train, time in Exeter, visit to Agatha Christie's holiday home Greenway, Buckfast Abbey and time with St Marychurch WI Torquay. On the way home, we visited STEAM in Swindon. All in all an excellent trip.

A highlight was meeting up with WI members from St Marychurch WI of Torquay.
En route we enjoyed a brief stop at Gloucester Services, then on to Exeter for free time to sight see or shop.
First day was a visit to Agatha Christie's holiday home "Greenway" gifted to the National Trust. Agatha called it 'the loveliest place on earth' and we agreed. The gardens are wonderful. The house is preserved as it was when it was gift to the NT including the clothes in the wardrobe.
Enjoying Greenway - including playing tennis!
We then moved on to Buckfast Abbey, including an afternoon tea. The benedictine monks were welcoming and the architecture amazing.

We were privileged to visit Dartmouth Naval College.
Travelling back to Paignton by Steam Train
Journey home via STEAM at Swindon, an interesting and fun experience, so much so we ran out of time to visit the Shopping Centre nearby!
Happy group awaiting the coach home outside STEAM in Swindon.
Welcoming and comfortable hotel in Paignton - and we were always welcomed back on the coach!
