Christmas Festivities

Blisworth Christmas Party

Joint party with Milton Malsor and Collingtree WI
December 14th, 7pm to 10pm

Review of the evening

The Party at Blisworth was enjoyed by the 11 members and 2 guests who braved the cold night air to get there, judging by the smiley, happy faces. Blisworth WI made us very welcome in their festive hall and we were given drinks on arrival and shown to tables, brightly adorned with decorations and crackers. We waited a little while as several members had said that they might be late but we filled the time in chatting happily, buying Raffle tickets and Naming the gorgeousTeddy Bears.

Supper was announced and plates were filled with a delicious selection of cold buffet food, followed by mouth-watering desserts.

The Raffle consisted of three delightful hampers, brimming with festive goodies, two of which were won by members of our party. The Teddy Bears were named and went to a good home in Blisworth.

The entertainment of the evening was provided by Jacqui, a Welsh lady with a superb voice, formally a West End show singer. She sang a selection of old pop songs and songs from the shows, intermingled with Christmas songs and carols. A Blisworth '12 Months of the WI' was attempted by everyone but it was difficult to get the words to accurately fit the music!! It was a good effort.

All too soon it was time to don our coats and head off home, happily wishing everyone a Happy Christmas.
