Annual Meeting
This meeting provides the opportunity for members to choose a new Committee and President for the following year. The outgoing Committee conclude their year with reports and the Competition Cup is presented to the member with the highest number of points accumulated over the year. Any changes in Bylaws and Decisions are voted upon.
Social time usually follows where members can chat over refreshments and occasionally quizzes and games are introduced.
Review of the Meeting
The Meeting took place at Raynsford House as the Village Hall was being used by another group so that we could use it next week for our Gardener's Question Time meeting.
The usual agenda was followed, with the inclusion of members voting for the Approval of Articles of Association agreed upon at the National AGM last June. A new Bylaw was introduced - When a new President is elected, she should be limited to 3 years in office at any one time.
Paula delivered the Annual report with humour and poetic phrases and Brenda spent a lot of her report thanking the committee for their various supporting roles and other members for back up. The new Programme for 2014 was delivered by Lorraine and the Competitions Cup was presented to Lorraine, with the two Brendas in 2nd equal places.
The competition - 'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' was won by Paula Neal who interpreted the title with an autumnal watercolour painting overwritten with poetic phrases. Second was Sheila Charlton with an autumnal basket of fruits and hedgerow goods and third Chris O'Leary for her photo and poem.
