Morocco Bound

From the Souks to the Sahara, Mrs Chris Rowe will fascinate us with tales, facts and experiences from Morocco. This promises to be an evening of spicy surprises.

Review of the evening - Chris needed little introduction as she has spoken to our WI before. Her talk this month included wonderful photography of the country which she has visited several times. Her enthusiasm for the country, its inhabitants, landscape and stories were infectious. She told us stories about a bloodthirsty chief with 800 sons - no daughters! and a man with a stable of 4000 horses. Photos showed us ruined cities, beautiful mosaics and tiles, skilled craftsmen in leather work, mosques, contrasts between the Sahara Desert and golden beaches and exciting souks. We look forward to another talk soon.

The competition was An Exotic Experience and entries included a belly dancing outfit, poetry, unusual pictures from far away places, exotic fruits, hot air balloons, Russian dolls and several more.
